Rough Draft 3

I was experimenting with the texture of the tree and tried using a photograph of leaves I took. I also changed the background to a sunset look in the clouds, from a suggestion by a classmate. However, the combination of these two together, in my opinion, doesn't work. I'll continue to work with backgrounds and ways to manipulate the tree to make it more interesting.

I continued to alter the tree and well as the writing integrated in the branches. I created a rainbow ) using the gradient tool along with other tools and effects to manipulate it. I also added a photograph of clouds into the background. [Personally, I associate rainbows with faith, a good comparison for general understanding for veiwers would be the lyrics to If i Die Young, by A Band Perry]

The Cyclical Nature of Things Project

For this assignment we were instructed to photograph a specific tree near the Herbert-Wey art building. After gathering several photos, I began to develop my idea based on "cyclical nature" using the tree as a starting point. The branches and roots of a tree and the way they extend outward in different directions reminded me of way paths we take throughout our lifetime. We have the opportunity to go in various directions in our life based on our choices and decisions that get us there, always wondering what would have happened if we made a slight adjustment. I plan to represent this idea by intertwining words into the branches of the tree, hopefully in a hidden manner.  I also would like to incorporate various images (literal or abstract) to represent those words or specifically prominent points in my life when I had to make a life changing decision. My one word to sum up this project will be: Choices.
